Invacare
When Skipjack Supply Chain first engaged Invacare,
a global leader in the manufacture and distribution of home and
long-term care medical products, the company was using a third
party warehouse management system (WMS) in conjunction with the
Oracle E-Business Suite to execute their shipping processes. Because
the existing solution did not have reliable, real time interfaces
to Oracle, Invacare was experiencing shipping inaccuracies and
performance delays. In order to optimize their system, the experts
from Skipjack Supply Chain recommended and implemented Oracle’s
Warehouse Management solution as a replacement. This change alone
radically simplified their processes and allowed Skipjack to transfer
Invacare’s critical shipping functions back into the Oracle
footprint. With Oracle’s WMS in place, Skipjack created the
custom applications that were necessary for Invacare’s unique
business needs including integration of Oracle WMS to Connect Ship,
a freight rate and route application. Invacare now benefits from
greater control of freight expenditures. The simplicity gained
by following the recommendations made by Skipjack Supply Chain
has not only resulted in greater workplace efficiency, it has significantly
affected the company’s bottom line.

LifeCell, a Division of Kinetic Concepts Inc.
When Skipjack Supply Chain first engaged LifeCell, a leading provider
of innovative biological products for soft tissue repair, the company
was introducing a new product line with unique requirements that
could not be fulfilled by their existing process manufacturing
solutions, Oracle Process Manufacturing (OPM) or ClearOrbit. LifeCell
leveraged Skipjack Supply Chain’s expert knowledge of ClearOrbit
to create custom mobile transactions that seamlessly integrated
with OPM and met all of the data capture and product labeling requirements
imposed by the US Food and Drug Administration.

Presto Products, A division of Reynolds Packaging
When Skipjack Supply Chain first engaged Presto Products,
a market-leading supplier of private label food and disposer bags,
the company was using a legacy application that augmented Oracle
Bill of Materials and Engineering. Although Presto had elected
to move all their critical business information to Oracle, the
company had become dependent on this legacy system to create a
specific document used in their private label manufacturing process.
Throughout their consideration process, it was determined by several
supply chain consultants that this particular application could
not be replicated in Oracle. Presto needed to retain this business
critical functionality, but also needed to retire the legacy hardware.
Skipjack was able to design and develop an E-Business extension
that was tightly integrated to Oracle Inventory, Bill of Materials
and Quality, providing 100% of their legacy system’s functionality
within the company’s
Oracle footprint. By allowing Presto to retire their legacy application
and the mainframe it ran on, Skipjack has helped the company to
consolidate their information within Oracle and recognize substantial
infrastructure cost savings.

Sapa
Skipjack Supply Chain first engaged Sapa – one
of the world's leading manufacturers of aluminum extrusions, in
2003. Sapa was looking to improve shipping execution performance
in Oracle by deploying a mobile solution. The experts at Skipjack
analyzed Sapa's unique requirements and recommended a custom solution
built on top of their existing ClearOrbit platform. Skipjack delivered
the solution on budget and ahead of schedule, eventually deploying
the solution to several high volume manufacturing facilities in
North America. Impressed by the successful project, Sapa has continued
to leverage Skipjack to augment their Oracle implementation teams
and deliver many high value manufacturing and shipping solutions.

Shorewood Packaging, A Business of International Paper
When the experts at Skipjack Supply Chain first met Shorewood
Packaging, a leading value-added provider of high quality printing,
packaging and retail displays, they were running the Oracle E-Business
Suite in conjunction with ClearOrbit's mobile applications for
inventory, manufacturing, shipping and receiving. While the mobile
applications helped to reduce operator workload, they were not
a 100% fit for Shorewood's LPN based inventory management system.
Skipjack customized the existing ClearOrbit solution to provide
LPN driven single scan execution transactions that increased throughput
on the shop floor and in the warehouse, while reducing data entry
errors. Since then, the Skipjack team has provided Shorewood Packaging
with ongoing support and the additional functionality necessary
to maintain their streamlined solution while also performing point
release upgrades to ClearOrbit to track with new releases of Oracle’s E-Business Suite. Skipjack’s
successful solution has also allowed additional high volume distribution
centers to be brought on line in Oracle.
